EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS

​Emergencies happen every day -- often when you least expect it. The Ready Campaign encourages all Americans to have an emergency supply kit, an emergency plan, and to be informed about the different emergencies that can happen in their area and the appropriate responses. 

Events such as tornadoes, earthquakes, floods, severe winter weather, hazardous material spills, or acts of terrorism can be a threat to our lives, our homes, and our families. HSCDEM encourages citizens to be proactive against disaster. Develop a family emergency supply kit and communication plan before disaster strikes. The most important thing individuals can do is to "Be aware, Get prepared!"
